    Perfect out of the box

These were recommended to me as the ideal Bugaboos boot - great for humping a heavy load in steep terrain, great with a crampon for glacier travel, good on easy rock, all while being light enough to toss in your pack for an up and over. Handled microspikes great as well. I didn't have time to 'break' these in before my trip in '22, but they were a dream. I've been using them every summer since. And, don't believe the MP bros who say you're fine in glacier terrain with trail runners - they were the ones suffering in wet spongy feet and rolled ankles!

    Light and sturdy.

Light and sturdy. This boot is amazingly light and comfortable for the structure it has. I got it to climb Mt. Shasta, my first real mountaineering experience, and they were awesome, I had no blisters at all. They're a lot of boot for hiking, but for light mountaineering they are perfect, and crampons attach easily.

    Perfection

Unsure of what kind of footwear would be best to do some early season climbing in the Tetons, I arrived at Jackson Hole Mountain Guides with only my approach shoes hoping that their dem boots wouldn't suck. Not only didn't they suck, but they were fabulous and they were these wonderful boots. All the technology and design that went into these puppies makes a boot that is comfortable, supportive, dry, stiff as needed, crampon compatible, lightweight, and I dint want to rip them off fist thing at the end of the day. In fact, I rather liked wearing them so much, it might be the first time rental gear actually will become something I'd buy. LOVE these boots!

Zodiac Tech GTX Scarpa boot - I love this boot.

I just returned from celebratory trip trekking and climbing to the top of the Grand Teton in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. It was an amazing trip. I was wearing the Zodiac Tech GTX Scarpa boot. I highly recommended this boot! My colleagues and I, as well as Jackson Hole Mountain Guides all wore this model.

Although, I’m very active I can’t say I’m a mountain alpinist in any form. :-) These boots were amazingly lightweight, rigid where needed, and extremely comfortable out of the box. They were the smaller version of the Mount Blanc – which although a great boot choice, the Zodiac GTX was better for my light frame and the short duration of the trip (4 days). I have a fairly high arch and I was completely supported in the Zodiac. The Boot offered a nice deep heel pocket and I experienced zero blisters or hotspots anywhere on my feet. There is a neoprene ankle cuff that keeps scree and debris and snow out and adds insulation while post holing. They are an approach boot so there’s plenty of sticky rubber for secure climbing. We used crampons a great deal and they handled them extremely well and securely. This boot was ideal for the mix climb conditions we experienced, as well as hiking and scrambling. I highly recommend this Zodiac Tech GTX and had a great trip because of them.
