RAPID XT FEMMES

I absolutely love the original Rapids as a hybrid approach/trail running shoe, but the new XT's are definitely a step up in the traditional approach shoe category, far better than the Crux or the Gecko in my opinion. It has a wider toe box, great shape, feels very supportive, hikes and climbs really well, and is much lighter than it looks. Since they have a leather upper, my only suggestion would be to go a half size down, as mine seem to have stretched a bit! Other than that they're perfect.

I switched to Rapic XT when my go-to approach shoes from another brand went through a redesign no longer fitting my wide feet. Rapid XT has a wide toe box, stiffer sole than LaSpo TX4, slightly lighter, simpler but sturdier lacing system and a much beefier heel loop to clip your shoes on to your harness. These treads do well on sand, dirt, and rock; I the sole of the shoes is narrower that what I'm used to so perhaps more nimble but less lateral movement protection. I sized down 1/2 size compared to my old TX4 size, they seem to run slightly big. These shoes are working out great for me.
