Durable Perwanger suede upper backed by GORE-TEX® Bluesign. Perwanger is a family owned leather tannery that has been in operation since 1780. The leather is carefully selected from alpine cattle and then undergoes a special processing and finishing to deliver an extremely durable product, with a smooth and consistent surface grain that is highly water resistant and very durable. GORE-TEX® Bluesign is treated with a PFCec-free solution, vastly reducing the chemical footprint of the process. This GORE-TEX® membrane provides the optimal combination of breathability and waterproof protection.
SCHOELLER DYNATIC FABRIC
Schoeller Dynatec temperature regulating fabric in the collar and flex zone. Schoeller Dynatic Fabric is a durable stretch fabric that incorporates a special wind & waterproof "smart" membrane with C-CHANGE technology, which adapts to the environmental conditions to allow more or less moisture vapor to pass through, optimizing the users comfort level.

I'm a USFS trail repair volunteer. I just replaced my third pair of Solomon boots, which typically last only one season. I've used these now only three days in the mountains, but I'm impressed with the construction. I made no attempt to break them in. None needed. The fit is perfect (M 7.5 USA) the lacing system quick and solid. The rubber strip along the entire base of the upper is excellent. No signs of weakness.
A great boot that outperforms its weight.

On the plus side it's very well made. Has absolutely excellent traction, and will take you anywhere. Great support.
But for me it causes a lot of pain the ball of my foot by 2 miles in. Despite trying met guards and various insoles, I have found little relief. So make sure you its a good boot for your foot before committing...

This boot is super comfortable and provides great support. It helps my injured ankle alot. And I can't believe they can get a boot with this much support to be so light in wieght.

Great construction, D-E width forefoot, medium high volume (plenty of room for an orthotic), torsionally quite stiff although not as stiff as Zodiac Plus (which works as a general mountaineering boot), more heel and forefoot cushion than ZP. Very comfortable ride for a boot of this stiffness. Not a mountaineering boot, but sufficiently stiff for most off-trail travel and would work with C1 (hinged strap-on) crampons for glacier walking.

THIS IS MY 3RD PAIR OF SCRAPA BOOTS. (I HIKE ALOT ON CONCRETE SIDEWALKS TO GET TO NATURE TRAILS THAT THE SOLE HEELS WEAR OUT AFTER 3-4 YEARS. NOT A PROBLEM-I DO WALK ALOT) THE SECOND PAIR IS THE ONE I LOVE THE BEST BECAUSE THE 3RD CLIP DOWN CLAMPS THE SHOE LACE. THE BEST NEW IDEA IN HIKING BOOTS IN A LONG TIME. THIS ALLOWS DIFFERENT TENSIONS IN TWO PARTS OF THE BOOT. THE NEW PAIR DOES NOT, WHICH IS A DISAPPOINTMENT. BUT NOT ENOUGH TO SEND THEM BACK.
