Golden Gate LT Men's

After my experience with one pair, I bought another pair during a recent sale. These are my favorite shoes for hiking, and after breaking in the midsole, they are fantastic for trail running as well. The toebox is wide, allowing toe splay, good mid-foot lock down. My biggest gripe is with the heel lockdown, I had to apply a runner's knot in order to achieve good heel lockdown. But now, it's perfect, foot feels locked in and each stride feels planted. A very stable shoe underfoot, but still has enough ground feel. I bought these trying to find a replacement of my beloved Salomon Thundercross, and of the five other shoes I've tried as replacements, the Golden Gate LT is by far the best of the bunch. The uppers are very breathable, and I assumed I'd get a lot of dust and debris inside the shoes, but I've run and hiked on coastal and volcanic trails, and the sand, dust and dirt stays outside the shoe. Highly recommend the Golden Gate LT for those looking for a light energy return, non-super shoe option. I found running in Nitro-infused midsoles full-time led to shin splints and stress injuries and was making my feet and ankles weak, so I've gone back to running in lower energy return shoes for 70-80% of my runs. I love having the Golden Gate LT as part of my quiver.

This is my 3rd pair of Golden Gates and by far the best version for me. I find it to have ample cushioning without feeling too squishy.

I’m typically a 46.5 in all my Scarpa trail runners and approach shoes and the same with these. I find good consistency across the Scarpa brand for this type of shoe. High quality as per usual.

I've worn SCARPA's nearly exclusively over the past several years from mountaineering boots to trail running shoes. I had several pairs of the previous Golden Gate 2s. As much as I liked the previous model, this new Golden Gate LT is probably my new favorite trail running shoe ever. Fit great right out of the box and got even better as I broke them in. The level of cushion and support is perfect plus I love the position of my foot during ground strike. Grip level is great as I transition from asphalt to sandy, rocky terrain; very secure. I couldn't be more impressed!!! I can't think of a single way to make them better.
