A new 102mm wide last provides more performance and comfort. The widest part of the shell is now located further back on the lateral side of the foot, near the “sixth toe” providing more comfort in a critical area for a lot of feet. To further enhance fit and performance, the toe box and heel pocket have been reshaped to provide a significant increase in both precision and responsiveness compared to previous versions. More comfort, more performance!

SCARPA Ski Sizing Chart

All SCARPA ski boots use Mondo sizing.

SCARPA ski boots break on the half size, this means that a half size shares the same shell length as the whole size above it but the liners are lasted for each 1/2 size. For example, a 25.5 and 26.0 are the same shell size but the respective liners come pre-molded to the half size.

Some skiers may want to downsize up to 1 full Mondo size, depending upon personal preference.

    So far all’s great

Considering the weather here in Maine right now I probably won’t bother to ski anymore this season, but if I do I will definitely try them out. These are my 5th I think GEA RS boots in the last 20 years and they’re going to be great I’m quite sure, thank you Scarpa!

    Best Performing AT Women's Boot

The new GEA RS has significant upgrades on an already best in class AT boot! This is my 5th generation of the GEA and RS version, I think the first was the green model. I'm nearing the end of my 2nd season with this model and they continue to be my favorite all-time AT boot.

I wear them for the handful of days I ski in resorts as well. I’ve been a SCARPA athlete since 2015 and acknowledge my privilege to work with the brand and benefit from product that spans all mountain sports I pursue for work and play. I also value that SCARPA wants honest feedback from the team for product reviews.

My first impression for this model of the GEA RS was the noticeably lower volume forefoot which was concerning - I don’t wear tight boots. It did take 8 days of up and down use before my high arch and instep fit perfectly with the Intuition liner around the tongue/shell zone, which ultimately resulted in a more precise fit than previous models. That said, previous models I’ve worn right out of the box with no fit issues, so these did required a break in period. Also noticeable is a change in the toe box shape which has ample room but definitely results on more precision and better contact in the boot than previous models.

Compared to earlier GEA’s, I experience performance improvements with this new model in; 1) lower volume everywhere - forefoot, sole, cuff and heel, without significant fit differences of previous models (= less snow glopping to the boot, easier to travel with, more…
