CRUX HOMMES (MIS À JOUR)

I like the update to the original Crux shoes. I had my last pair for 5 or so years and loved them. The new Crux shoes seem to be quite similar, however, they do seem to have a sole that is bit stiffer than the last pair (when new), if I remember correctly. They are not too stiff but might need a short break-in period where my last ones didn't.

One additional comment, both this new pair and my last, I had to upsize a half-size (US), as they ran a bit narrow, if I chose my normal size but with the upsizing, both length and width are good. I do like the updated and more muted color way, though...that is indeed an upgrade.

Just like the old version, the new one is a great all around approach shoe. Very comfortable, wide toe box gives plenty of room for my wide-ish forefoot. Less aggressive than La Sportiva's TX line, but as a guide who is often lazy to change into climbing shoes, I can still climb 5.9+ comfortably in them. What they lack in aggression, they more than make up for in comfort and durability. Looks-wise, not as flashy as some other options but still look techy enough that people ask about them.

This is my third Scarpa product. I had telemark boots in the past, and I now have a pair of trail boots and now these "shoes". The fit is perfect I usually wear 46, but with my actual trail boots, I figured 46.5 would be better (and it is !) ! They are calling for "adventure". You just feel you need to go outside and walk in the wild ! They really hold your feet tight so you can connect with the ground. I just love them !
