KAILASH TREK GTX - WIDE

Had my first pair for 7 years l, have used them hiking in the low and high country in Idaho. Taken on a few fall hunting trips backcountry camping, off trial day and multi day excursions and have cover me through many shoulder seasons. Have I used them to post hole, slop though mud and hall my **** up and down scree piles.

In full disclosure I recieved these boots free of charge through Scarpa while doing a hike of Kilimanjaro for Summits of hope charity. They were perfect! The wide fit suited me well. I broke them in over the course of 3 months prior to the kilimanjaro hike. No hot spots or pinch points. Very comfortable but a bit hard underfoot. Also very stable. I removed the factory insole and replaced with a thermomolded insert from Sole. During the hike they performed very well and kept my feet warm. 2 years later and they are my preferred footwear after rupturing my achillies tendon. I can't really speak to their longevity for people logging serious kilometers but for my use they have been perfect.

These were fantastic boots. 150 summits with them and hundreds upon hundreds of miles climbing the rocky peaks of the White Mountains in New Hampshire. Started with the ZG Trek and upgraded to the Kailash in Wide. I came back to get another pair because these fit so well and have been perfect for me only to find out they've discontinued the wide version in 2025.
