Introducing The Veloce

SCARPA is launching a game changing, new concept in their 2020 climbing collection…The Veloce! This climbing shoe has been designed to deliver the ultimate combination of comfort and performance that will truly excel in a climbing gym environment. Limited supplies of the Veloce will be sold in December, two months prior to its’ global launch date, exclusively at participating REI and MEC stores across North America.

The Veloce has been constructed with a flat, slightly down turned shape that is meant to reduce the pressure on the toes, while still maintaining a precise fit. With additional space added to the four toe area (outside of the toe box), these shoes will continue to feel comfortable, even during extra-long training sessions on the climbing wall or in the bouldering cave.

With a microfiber upper that is both smooth and stretchy (With a smooth microfiber and stretchy airmesh upper), the Veloce delivers a second skin feeling that is soft and extremely comfortable. This dual-layered, upper material is durable and stretch resistant, allowing for the shoe to be easily resoled and washed. A z-strap closure locks the foot in place for a flexible and fast adjustment, while reducing excess layers for less pressure and enhanced breathability.

The Veloce’s thin and flexible midsole gives the climber a great amount of sensitivity and smearing ability, thanks to the close contact the forefoot has with the rubber sole unit outsole. The randing system offers tension from the tip of the toes to the rear of the shoe that provides not only a lasting shape, but also dynamic support.

The specialized rubber used on the bottom of the Veloce is 4mm, S-72 rubber which is softer than any other rubber used in SCARPA’s climbing shoe line. This new rubber offers ultimate adhesion to even the slipperiest holds. Vibram XS Grip rubber is also used on the Veloce in the Pressure Absorbing Fit System, which allows for a form-fitting shape while reducing pressure on the achilles.

Designed to shine at indoor climbing, the Veloce is perfect for climbers looking for a shoe that will continue to feel good (comfortable) during long training sessions or for a shoe that will remain relevant to their climbing level as they progress in the sport. With the SCARPA Veloce being the first shoe of its’ kind to hit the market, they are certain to be in high demand. If you want to ensure that you are one of the first to snag this innovative, new design, grab a pair in November at a participating REI or MEC store. They will launch on scarpa.com and globally in Spring 2020.
