Biography

blue underline

I started climbing in Kentucky’s Red River Gorge just two hours from where I grew up, but it was the rock and ephemeral ice lines of MT & WY that carved my teeth as a climber. These local crags have helped arm me with the tools to play on bigger objectives around the globe on rock and ice. I continue to find inspiration in the vast expanses of untapped vertical cliffs (big and small; sport and trad), ice seeps, and snowy peaks in proximity to my home. My biggest achievement range from 60’ sport climbs, 1,000’ FA rock and ice lines, to far off climbs in Patagonia, Alaska, etc. My personal climbing has crisscrossed my life with many amazing people and locations and has taken me up remote alpine faces in Alaska and South America, northern Africa, and throughout Europe. What has fueled me most through the years is the lure of the new, which comes at many times as first ascents with solid friends. For work I own and operate MAG (Montana Alpine Guides), www.mtalpine.comwith which I keep busy guiding ice in Hyalite Canyon in the winter and rock in the summer.
