Biography

Somewhere along the way I fell off track and discovered an obsession for ascending to high-mountain places and skiing back down. I’ve been traveling the snowy regions of the world searching for powder and practicing the ski-mountaineering craft for the past 17 years. For 10 years my brother and I produced the Powderwhore Productions films and traveled around sharing the stoke. Now, I enjoy checking out new lines and new ranges, or ticking off steep skiing classics. In my time on snow I’ve laid down many first descents in my home range and Alaska. In 2010, I completed skiing all the lines in Andrew McLean’s “Chuting Gallery”. Since then I’ve laid down several cutting0edge first descents of my own off the Pfiefferhorn, Mount Olympus, Timpanogos, Storm Mountain and more. Last winter I completed the first winter version of the Hardrock 100 through the San Juan Mountains of Colorado. In recent years I’ve seen backcountry use explode, and I’ve been working with the Wasatch Backcountry Alliance and Winter Wildlands Alliance to advocate for human powered winter recreation and continued access to the places we love to play.
