Hiking season doesn't have to end when the snow starts to fly - at least not when you have the SCARPA Rush Polar GTX hiking boot. Packed with warmth, both GORE-TEX® Insulated Comfort and PrimaLoft Gold Eco synthetic insulation, this shoe will keep your toes toasty for winter hikes, snowshoe adventures, and everything in between. A GORE-TEX® lining is both waterproof and breathable, keeping you warm and dry from the inside out. The mid-height cuff works to both protect your ankles on trail as well as to keep snow from finding its way in. A Perwanger suede leather outer provides dependable durability, making this shoe a great option as a daily driver in the winter.

    Great boot

The Scarpa Rush Polar GTX is a warm and very well made boot. Sizing is very accurate and the boot is very comfortable. Takes a little break in time but after that the boot is perfect. Scarpa boots are some of the best.

    8 Inch Cuff + 400 Grams = 5 Star

8 Inch Cuff + 400 Grams = 5 Star. Could possibly live without the 400 grams. Lace lock might help as well.

Sized Up with Thicker Socks Takes Boot to 0F

Great boot for moving in mountain terrain (including pre-ski season snow depths) in cold temps think alpine start with below zero F and still good at warmer temps later in the day. A good value, and insulated well but not too much. Suggest sizing up 1/2 to full size to fit a thicker or two pair of socks to boost warmth when needed. Still retains the ability to keep heel locked in if you double over the lacing hooks at the heel. Which does bring to the only real weakness which is the lack of a true lace lock to isolate the lower and upper to have separate tension. Doubling over the first lace hooks does mostly solve the issue.

Great winter boot - my new go-to!

The first night I had these I tried them out on a midnight hike with the pup through a record Fall snowstorm. I was immediately impressed with the fit and build and they definitely kept my feet warm and dry through 6 miles of knee deep snow. I've used them in various conditions since - snowshoeing at 5F, hiking in the rain at 34F, and fat-biking at 20F. All well within their comfort range which seems to be spot on. I bought them a half-euro size large to accommodate thicker socks and potentially sock liners or vapor barrier and they fit perfectly. I also like that the lace hooks run lower than most hiking boots so they go on easy. They have immediately become my go-to footwear for the fickle AK weather.

    perfect fit and great support

I ordered these boots after giving away my last pair of boots to my porter in Nepal before coming home. These boots fit great right out of the box and have great support for my ankles when hiking up the mountain around my house. I don't even have to buy aftermarket insoles because the ones that Scarpa include in the boots are great.
