RAPID XT MEN'S

I absolutely love the original Rapids as a hybrid approach/trail running shoe, but the new XT's are definitely a step up in the traditional approach shoe category, far better than the Crux or the Gecko in my opinion. It has a wider toe box, great shape, feels very supportive, hikes and climbs really well, and is much lighter than it looks. Since they have a leather upper, my only suggestion would be to go a half size down, as mine seem to have stretched a bit! Other than that they're perfect.

I've used a lot of approach shoes over the years and these are the best I've had. All approach shoes have to decide how much to compromise hiking comfort and climbing precision. These are better at both than many approach shoes I've had. I really like the chisel toe shape and the sole, and I'm grateful that Scarpa makes some larger sizes. For refence I'm a size 48 medium width, low volume. Perfect for Flatirons scrambles!

40 years of Scarpa and they are still the best shoe brand around. I didn't actually wear out my last pairs. After 6 plus years my son adopted them to use for his roofing job so I needed a new pair.

I use Scarpas for climbing, hiking, law enforcement work, and training snipers in rough terrain. I can't recommend another brand.

I have somewhat wide feet with a healthy arch and these fit well.
