IPC-TENSION SYSTEM
IPC Tension combines the best features of both the Bi-Tension and V-Tension into a unique configurating the delivers a combination of both comfort and performance. The rand runs along each side of the foot providing the support and tension required for micro edging, while at the same time allows the foot to flex naturally when smearing on glassy slabs.
PREMIUM ECO LEATHER
Lined Premium Eco-leather is a biodegradable leather that has been tanned in an environmentally friendly way. The Eco certification indicates that no heavy metals, like chrome and mercury, are used in the tanning process.

I bought these without trying them on (my bad) because every other Scarpa climbing shoe I've purchased has fit perfectly. I'm a women's street size 9 with a wide forefoot and narrow heel. The heel cup on these is way deeper than my other Scarpa shoes and I've got some dead space in there that make these shoes feel insecure. I purchased my street size 40.5 hoping these would be a good upgrade from my Helix shoes for crack and alpine. The shoes do stay solidly on because the higher ankle gives me the ability to really cynch them on at the ankle. I don't think sizing down a 1/2 size would work as then I'd loose the toe space I need for crack climbing and all day comfort. Unfortunately I'm still on the hunt for my perfect crack shoe. My Scarpa quiver for reference: Vapor 39.5 for gym and outdoor sport, Instinct 39.5 for bouldering, Techno X 40 for multipitch, Helix 40.5 for cracks and all day alpine).
