Excellent for backpacking on rugged trails and even some off-trail travel

Great fit for my D-width medium volume foot. Torsional stiffness 5.5 out of 10*, a bit stiffer than I recall from previous versions, sufficiently stiff for most off-trail sidehilling (although it surely not a mountaineering boot). Roundish fore-aft flex keeps things comfy on trail.

*My torsional stiffness rating: Floppy trail runner = 1; Rigid mountaineering boot: 10; Zodiac Tech = 9; Zodiac Plus = 7.5

    Great boots

I had a pair of these for 14 years and they've been great. Very well made, great foot and ankle support and very comfortable.

    2025 Kailash Trek

Evaluation of 2025 Scarpa Kailash Trek huking boots. Bought these to replace an earlier (2016) version of the same boot. The 2016 boot had a nice right-angle at the boot top that matched my ankle perfectly. The 2025 version seems to have a 95 or 100 degree angle at the boot top. This causes the boot to deform when lacing it snug to my foot.

Thinking of these boots, Go for it!

I’ve had these boots about a year now. Excellent comfort and support. These replaced my Lowa Renegades which I purchased several pair of over the years. The Lowa’s are comfortable and supportive but mine didn’t hold up. After a season the sides of my renegades would loose shape and some support. The Kailash have maintained their shape. I purchased my Scarpa’s for frequent hikes in the high country around Anchorage, AK. However due to the comfort and ankle support I use them all the time. I’m 63 and pretty active with my year old Aussie and grandkids. I average around 17K steps a day and my right ankle tendons sometimes act up wearing low cut shoes or ankle high trail runners. The Kailash provides incredible ankle support and are very comfortable for me.
