PRESSURE ABSORBING FIT (PAF) SYSTEM
AF (Pressure Absorbing Fit) is an innovative heel system that helps both spread the force of the heel tension and increase the fit of the heel. The Active Rand rubber is interrupted behind the heel to reduce pressure on the achilles tendon and connected with 2mm XS GRIP2 rubber, that works like a bridge and allows full adaption to the shape of the heel while still providing dynamic forward pressure to focus power over the big toe. The holes on the side of the heel indicate the tension applied, which varies between 1 hole for light tension, 2 holes for mid tension and 3 holes for strong tension.
SURROUND RUBBER TENSION (SRT)
SRT is a layer of our ultra-soft M50 rubber that wraps around the forefoot and translates the power directly to the tips of the toes. It also provides maximum friction and sensitivity for toe-hooking. Climbing with soft shoes improves one’s climbing style and naturally strengthens toe power. The total freedom of foot placement stimulates a faster and more dynamic movement on rock or plastic.

This shoe is a great fit between the drago and instinct. I’m primarily a VSR user and the chimera is a great addition. The shoe feels incredibly sensitive, I can really feel what I’m standing on and be confident smearing or really digging into a foothold on an overhang. Slowly becoming my new favorite shoe. It’s soft, yet has enough stiffness to really generate power when you need to. For reference, my street shoe is 43, I ordered a 41.5 which is the same I wear in the instinct for a performance fit. Barely required any break in and really molds to your foot for comfort. You won’t regret giving these a shot!

I use this shoe for sport climbing, bouldering, and climbing at the gym. Works well on everything! Feels softer and more sensitive than a lot of other shoes. As far as sizing, it feels more snug than most other shoes.

Most of the other reviews I've read about this shoe are accurate. The Chimera is a lightweight, tight, flexible, do-it-all, technical shoe. Definitely the best shoe model I have worn so far. One thing I don't see in the other reviews though, is how good-looking they are. I get complements at the gym anytime I put them on, and people ask if they can hold them for a better view. I know looks are a subjective opinion, but these shoes look good, are of high-quality build, and work extremely well in climbing - at least for me.

There was too much volume through the arch and heel at one size down (39) from my street shoe (EU 40-41), and smaller sizes were too short-- yet the heels still slipped. I was hoping the lace system would compensate for the insecure fit but w/ maximum lace closure the shoes were still too loose. I can't really comment on the quality since I returned them. The price seems par for the course.

Really like the shoe, it has a nice edge in the toe for technical climbing and the it’s sensitive, which I prefer. Have to size down a bit to get the heel to fit, but that might be a me problem.
